My family recently read The Beekeeper Mystery which is the latest Boxcar Children book. It really sparked some curiosity in my 8 year old twins. So we started to watch videos and learn lots more about bees and beekeeping. “It was another great day of saving the bees”… I love those videos!
The interest might have been fleeting, especially since my kids are both pretty scared of flying insects, but nonetheless it has sparked some creative juices. Click on each project to take you to the project page.
Bee Zippered Pouch
This pouch features bee and honeycomb cut outs that really take your project to the next level. Get the pattern here!
Bee Paper Lantern
I know paper craft is not my normal gig, but when you have a Cricut it’s bound to happen eventually. Each of my kids now have a bee and honeycomb paper lantern in their room. They are super easy to make on your Cricut, but you could also hand cut them. Files for both options are included. Click on the photo to go to the instructions.
Bee Mini-Wallet
I can’t get enough of these mini wallets. They are the perfect size when you don’t want to carry your whole wallet. My business cards always get banged up in my purse so that’s what I’m going to use it for. I have multiple designs available and add new ones from time to time. The bee and honeycomb cut outs just scream spring and summer and go with all my other bee projects. I also have a heart cut-out pattern which is perfect for a valentines day teacher gift or just a holiday accessory.
Bee Greeting Card
I added a greeting card to the collection of bee themed projects too! The front of the card uses negative space just like the lantern and mini wallet. It’s such a fun card and I know it’ll put a smile on anyone’s face. You can use the included Happy Birthday sentiment which is designed to be drawn on with the Pen tool. Or you can leave it off and write your own. I’m sure you can come up with some Bee puns of your own for the inside. Fun tip, If you use translucent material you can stand the card up with a light inside, for a mini lantern.
I just love the bee projects! They are so unusual with the cutouts, and I have a Cricut Maker, so why not, lol! Thank you also for providing the heart cutout pattern. It’s always nice to have options.
glad you like it. I need to add some more cut out patterns for the different seasons.
