This is a PDF pattern. NOT a finished product. It is hand drafted and then digitized. Lines are clean, crisp and easy to see. Includes all standard pattern markings you would see from a big pattern company.

This pattern is for a Corner, also called Curved, Suck pad which covers the straps of your baby carrier. Protecting your straps from baby drool lessens the need for frequent carrier washings and keeps straps from becoming discolored. These pads fit Kinderpack as well as carriers with with similar strap width.

Corner Suck Pads have three sections that fit into and around the corner area. Curved pads are particularly good for those babies that are on the smaller size for their carrier, as that corner region is at prime chewing height, and delicious.

The suck pads made of three layers and are reversible. You can pick two great fabrics that match or coordinate with your carrier, or just pick fun fabrics you love! You can also choose to use PUL or other waterproof fabric inside or as the backing for ultimate carrier protection from that super drooler.

You can be as creative with this pattern as you desire: add trim, ruffles, or embroidery. Use your imagination!

Supplies

Fabric:
Two fat quarters and a kitchen towel are all you need to make these suck pads.

Fashion fabric. This is the primary side you want to see.
-Recommendations: woven cotton, cuddle fabric (Minky), or terry cloth.

Lining. This is the part touching the strap. Since they are reversible this side can also be used facing out.
-Recommendations: woven cotton, cuddle fabric (Minky), fleece, PUL, felted wool, or terry cloth.

Inside / Absorbency layer. This layer is inside and will never be seen. If either your side 1 or side 2 fabric is very absorbent like terry cloth, you do NOT need an inside absorbent layer.
– Recommendations: cotton batting, Zorb, or terry cloth.

(Optional) Waterproof center. This is a second interior layer, which is made of PUL or Nylon for waterproofing. If you add this layer, stack those pieces with the Lining and sew them like they were one layer. This technique is called flat lining.

(Optional) Ribbon 18″ – 3/8″ wide is my preference, but you may like larger or smaller. 8″ will give you 3 nice loops on each pad.
Matching thread and normal sewing items like pins

Closure: ONE of the following
• 6 snap sets
• 12″ of Hook and loop tape (Velcro)
