My friend Aimee (Sewing for Geeks) and I are teaming up with Indianapolis Public Library for a series of nine free sewing classes specifically designed for teens, ages 12-18. In these classes teens will learn a variety of hand sewing stitches, while creating and decorating a felt cord wrap and felt charging pouch to keep their phone safely off the floor while it powers up. Students will learn blanket stitch, french knots, buttonhole, and how to sew on a button.
Both of these projects make great gifts, and everyone will take home a pattern so they can make more!
Don’t live close in Indy? Kids not the right age? Want to make them yourself? Don’t worry! I’m making a free pattern and video sew-along that will be available in time for the first class. Watch for that email.
The downloadable flyer is here (Click TeenSewingClasses Oct-nov 2019) or just share the image below. No registration needed.Feel free to share this flyer with your friends or your community groups (like scouts or church). FYI: I can also teach sewing classes for your group, just send me a message.
