Log Cabin Quilt Block SVG Files – 10 sizes

$9.99

Description

The Log Cabin quilt block is one of the oldest and most beloved quilt patterns. It was even my mom’s first quilt made from red and white calicos. Its simplicity in sewing makes it great for beginners with no bias edges and straight forward construction from the middle out. Files come in Ten sizes: 6”, 9”, 10”, 12”, 14”, 15”, 20”, 22”

Traditionally, the center is red to represent the hearth in a home. I do love a red center, but yellow, and black are also becoming quite common. You can also “fussy cut” the centers to feature a fabric motif, like a flower, or an animal. Think of how cute that would be for a baby quilt.

One of the great things about the Log Cabin block is how many secondary patterns it makes. With one side light and one side dark, you can arrange the blocks to create bands of light and dark on the quilt. Making concentric diamonds, and even chevrons. I’ve also seen a small 3×3 quilt that used them to make a wreath look. There are so many to choose from.

Each setting has a common name, like Fields and Furrows, however the same setting may go by multiple names.
