PDF Pattern: Infinity Tie Strap Tote Bag

The Infinity Tie-Strap Tote Bag and an infinitely adjustable shoulder strap is designed to be tied to make it the perfect length for you. You can wear it over the shoulder, cross-body, tied to the shoulder straps of your baby carrier, or handle(s) of your stroller. Because it comes in four sizes, I have another post dedicated to helping you pick the right size, with additional information on how to tie the adjustable strap.

It was inspired by a Buddhist monk’s shoulder satchel. It’s designed for utility with a touch of flair. It’s even reversible! Everything is better with pockets! It comes with instruction to add 4 types of pockets. You can learn how to add the optional zippered pockets here. Psst…You can use these instructions to add pockets to anything.

Available in Four Sizes

The bag pattern is made up of one main body pattern piece and the strap. The strap is broken up into 3 options so you can create your ideal bag. The center body panel is a great place to feature panel prints, large scale fabric, keepsake fabric, legacy wraps, rare fabric, and embroidery.

Oh did I mention that this bag is perfect for baby carriers? I like to tie it to the straps, but it also works great cross body, or as a Ombuhimo style backpack. (Hack link coming soon, email me if you want to know sooner). It can also be looped into the handles of a stroller, when you need s break from carrying.

Customize it!

The top can be closed with a tab, zipper, or just left open. The tote has two snap markings so you can snap it closed even if it’s full to the brim. A tote bag is great, but pockets make it better. Instructions are included for adding a patch, slip, or zippered pocket on the inside or outside. You can also easily add or remove length from the strap to customize it.

You can be as creative with this pattern as you desire. Use different fabrics for each strap section, inside and out, or make it all out of the same fabric. Add trim, pockets, or embroidery. Make the whole thing, or just the pocket out of PUL for a wet bag, or out of mesh for a beach bag that the sand can get out of. Use your imagination!

The Infinity Tie-Strap Tote Bag PDF sewing pattern comes in four sizes to fit everyone. Doll, Small (Child), Medium (Teen), and Large. Each pattern is available on it’s own or you can get a bundle of all 4 sizes. The age in the brackets ( ) is the size for this purse pattern to be cross body, but it also works great as a shoulder bag.
